A social phenomenon. That is how we can define Carrera por la Vida/Walk for Life. A unique, healthy and emotional event that weit is organized each year to raise funds for the battle against breast cancer. Brigitte together with her army of volunteers work hard to get all the logistics, sponsorships, institutional contacts, collaborating companies, communication, artists, etc. ready for that special day.
Each year we donate the amount raised to the “Asociación Española contra el Cáncer” (AECC) and “Asociación de Mujeres afectadas por Cáncer de mama” (AMATE), who will designate the amount to investigation and special activities for those affected by cancer. Of course this always happens under guidance of a notary to certify and guarantee transparency at all times.
Come and show your support to who is dear to you by walking for them: your wife, sister, mum, friend, neighbour, colleague, etc. – you will make a difference.
ONCE A YEAR TO WALK IS TO SUPPORT.

Magma extends for fifteen days (until September the 14th) Colinas exhibition, from Monday to Friday from 09:00 to 17:00.
This exhibition occupies four spaces on the ground floor, with works as diverse as Magma, mixed technique on canvas 1.65 x 2.15 m. This is the building itself, which is being absorbed by a volcano where the artist wanted to tell us that everything can go back where it came from or what is the same, that we are dust and to dust we will become.
Also, the artist makes a nod to London with his work London City. Also at the fair of Seville with the picture, To the Fair. Without forgetting Cañadas del Teide, remembering Tenerife or Venice with the picture Masks and Lisbon Beached Boat, commemorating his earlier presentation. The artist also remembers his land, Castile and Leon, with his picture Feve, a narrow gauge train that still runs between Leon and Asturias. Finally, we must not forget his famous collection of Trainers and Tweezers.
Magma Arte & Congresos wants to boost such exposures and making the building a culture landmark in the south of Tenerife, and supporting charitable projects as the one who brought Colinas for our neighbors of El Hierro.
Is the only Canarian Architect invited to participate on the XIII Biennale which is entitled COMMON GROUND.
The architect Fernando Menis will present, from August 29th to November 23rd, as part of XIII Architecture Biennale of Venice, the proposal INTO THE WALL. The Pavilion of Spain and the installation will recognize the trajectory of the renowned canirarian architect, who will present their work in the Giardini area, after of this year director and curator of the Pavilion of Spain, Anton Garcia-Abril, had selected him.
Menis designed for the occasion a staging that consists on a selection of forms of his most innovative projects, carved in a black colored material - Foamglass. In it it is possible to observe their sustainable workflows, which include emblematic projects such as the Auditorium of Pájara (Fuerteventura), Tower Agora Garden (Taiwan) and the protagonist of the facility, the Auditorium of Torun (Poland).
Its aim is to approach architecture to society, which even before the crisis, had moved to places of elite, when in fact it is the most influential cultural discipline of the entire population, because it enjoys through a simple walk in any city.
INTO THE WALL
The proposal of Menis Arquitectos for the Venice Biennale 2012 will allow the visitor to enter a new concrete wall formwork, through the geometric games of the installation. On the outside, the wooden form warns that something passes by on the other side of the splint, something still in process. The geometry of the installation makes "disappear" the walls of the pavilion with a single gesture, removing geometric rigidity to the whole. In the end, the visitor has the opportunity of entering inside the wall.
"Visitors will experience what happens inside the wall. The concrete generates full and empty, geometric games, multiple textures that show the different types of forms that we have investigated in the studio for many years, models and architectural concepts that are sensed, combined with concrete materials that make up different sensations. There are changes in the color of the material, creating an experience that is part of the nature of our work. I think that has a handcrafted appearance." Menis states.
In the assembly, which began on July 14th, have participated, besides the two canarian form workers from DOPECA company who traveled to Venice to learn more about the Menis methods of making molds, several members of Menis studio team, and six students from the European University of Madrid, who have participated as trainees.
Biennale of Venice
This edition of the 2012 Biennale of Venice is entitled COMMON GROUND and have a total of 112 participants. Its director, David Chipperfield, has said that this name refers to a metaphor that goes beyond the spatial and territorial, which celebrates the idea of dialogue and collaboration in architecture.

The stage of Magma Art & Congress became last Friday into a scene of the Middle Ages in which the Canary company Timaginas Teatro managed to surprise the nearly 1,200 students of south of the island of Tenerife with the affairs, sword fighting and feats of Don Juan Tenorio. Once again, schools in the south have shown interest in moving their students a love of theater and culture having to hang the poster of “sold” as a sign of commitment to keep this art.
Timaginas Teatro, true to its idea of keeping the training work that develops every day in his academy can be proud of having kept on tenterhooks over a thousand students attended the school function and where they could live to see this work of José Zorrilla, which has become an iconic play that represents our scene with a aesthetic that has been well cared respecting the clothing, furniture and language of the sixteenth century.
